AFGHANISTAN.

NATO needs to step back and let the Afghan Army do the dirty work.

Its not that we cannot do it, but their Army can make it shall we shall say more permanent.

I think our military in Afghanistan should take a support role as much as possible.

I think we should concentrate on destroying poppy crop since that is the key to the Taliban's financial success.

Cut off the money and kill the terrorists.  Two simple principles that may resolve this war.

In essence, shoot to kill and burn the crop.

BIOFUELS IN FLORIDA.

America is a crisis driven society.

It appears that the world has something of this approach as well.

If I was a farmer in Florida I would be careful about going into the Biofuels Business.

The price of oil could go down at any time.

Florida produces 75% of America's Fruits and Vegetables in the winter months.

Talk to your Congressman about what America needs.

Droughts come and go.

ZIMBABWE.

Robert Mugabe has been president of that country since 1979.

He is a communist and his policies are tearing that country apart.

I know that because I read The Economist Magazine.

I do not agree with them on their solutions to problems, but their factual information is topnotch.

The population of Zimbabwe is illiterate.

That means they will respond to a communist approach and public relations, until they are educated.

Its a former British Colony that had a lot of good points to start after the Civil War was finished.

However, Mugabe and his cronies have turned the country upside down in terms of economic development.

From what I have seen and read, Communist Governments are good at stabilizing a country, developing education institutions, developing health care systems, and generally laying the groundwork for progress inside a war torn nation.

Eventually, a middle class emerges and rebels against government controls and corruption.

Unfortunately, Zimbabwe has not followed this path and may need to remove Robert Mugabe from power to get started.

IRAN, BUSH, AND EUROPE.

Bush is still obsessed with Iran getting Nukes.

Europe is pursuing a double game.  Support Bush in public and deny him any tangible gains on the sanctions issue.

Bush has failed on Iran not because of the Nuclear issue, but because his low interpersonal intelligence and ilow intrapersonal intelligence prevent him from dealing with people normally and the fact that his black and white approach is not conducive to dealing with international issues.

Iran may or may not be acquiring a nuke, but Bush does not look at the may not.

That's a lot like Reagan or Carter.

I got this job and I know the issue better than anyone else.

Ironically, he no longer talks about attacking Iran.  I wonder why?

POLLS SAY OBAMA IS A WEAK CANDIDATE.

Thes Polls talk in terms of Obama leading within the margin of error.

Is Obama a weak candidate?

I'd say yes and I offer no caveats, except for the fact that he offers a simply and powerful slogan call change.

People at the lower levels of society at least on the democrat side in this instance do not think through the ramifications of their stupidity.

Politicians prefer to deal with equals rather than a mere campaigner.

Clinton invented it.  The Permanent Campaign.

Again, people see someone on TV alone and automatically assume that person is like that in person.

If Obama has committed personal indescretions all you have to do is watch a conversation he had with Major Garrett of Fox News several months back.

Obama seem to have a gay reaction.

Major Garrett is a topnotch reporter from what I have seen.

In essence, Obama appears to be a sharp leadership type, but ultimately he is a personal failure.

RENEGOTIATE TREATIES AS OBAMA SAYS

I think Obama is trying to have it both ways in that he likes Free Trade, but democrat voters do not as well as Businessmen.

It would be interesting to study his record in the Congressional Record on what his position really is on Free Trade.

Barry does not have anyone investigated all of his public statements on this issue.

Let's see, I think all of the material he produced in college and law school should be published.

That's the point, everyone is reacting to what he says at the moment rather than taking his prior positions to him DVDs you might say.

BARRY'S VICE PRESIDENTIAL MOVES

Hillary's aide brought on Obama campaign.

Is this a move to make Hillary Obama's VP.

It is a dream ticket and a nightmare ticket for democrats.

The issue is simply, which force is stronger in terms of public opinion.

Hillary, I think the last poll I saw has a 50% unfavorable rating with the general public.

That's a hell of a hole just to start climbing out of and it belies Obama's talk of new and different leadership.

Oh! Let's remember, he's engaged in a general election campaign rather than a Primary Campaign where the Liberals predominate.

In essence, Barry is a typical politician trolling for votes and the Liberals are important in the primaries and less important in the general campaign.

Libertarian Republican #300

THE PLACE OF RELIGION IN SOCIETY.

Religion was best expressed by the 1st Amendment: Congress shall make no law respecting the establisment of religion or prevent the free exercise thereof.

That means Congress cannot touch the issue.  Does that the President and the Federal Courts can or cannot?

Religion's place in American Society is to teach, preach, and educate morality through the Bible.

Separation of Church and State was one sentence in a letter written by Thomas Jefferson.

It is not a hallowed Constitutional Stricture or Principle.

However, the diversity of the American Population prevent's the government from promoting uniformity in religion.

Religion has a shared responsibility along with the State on a range of issues.

Religion has informal links with the State rather than formal structure.

Religion provide's people with a respite from the drudgery of everyday existence.

Religion is powerful force in the affairs of men if it is respected.  If it is taken in moderation and you are not consumed by it.

I am more interested in Political Science or Human Resources because they are my forte.

I view religion as a part of my life, but not the be all or end all of my existence.

I would like to make some changes along this point, but I am stuck at the moment.

TOLERATION.

Social Conservatives believe in Social Order or Social Control.

They would say  they are following the course of history.

Democrats practice nihilistic policies when it comes to social issues.

Toleration demands that minority groups be allowed to practice their system of beliefs as long as it does not threaten the public safety.

I guess the FLDS Polygamists would be in that nebulous gray area.

I do not doubt that those men were doing something that was not in accordance of Texas Law.

The key to toleration is are my social actions harming your personal safety.

If my actions are a little strange then does that violate your personal safety.

What is the line between philosophy and law/order?

Libertarian Republican #298

MATERIALISM.

Economics is the life blood of mankind.

Paul, himself, said something to this effect, "get to work and don't sit around waiting for the second coming".

I was fortunate for a long time in having no need to work.

It can be an empowering force in a person's life under the right circumstances.

Materialism is strictly the buying and selling of goods.

A House, Car, Computer, and other items.

People can begin to feel empty in such circumstances in that their looking for a higher calling.

In that case, join the Army Reserve or Army National Guard.

Do some form of public service.

However, materialism is a necessary force of civilization.  I wonder how many people would give up their appliances.

Economics is a dry subject, but peoples behavior or self interest is an important determinant in a nations well being.

Libertarian Republican #297

REASON.

What is Reason?

The ability to think things through on any issue.

The ability to decide a course of action without getting caught up in the morass of detail.

The ability to think for yourself.

The ability to disseminate information.

The ability to think without using a crutch.  In my case, that was Reagan.

In some other peoples cases, it is Jesus.

In Liberals cases, its John F. Kennedy.

Its allright to have heroes, until you start thinking things through their way.

Reference is natural and inspiration is unnatural.

In essence, reason things out for yourself rather than holding fast to some mythical figure.

Libertarian Republican #296

LIBERTY.

Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.

Liberty deals with freedom and individualism.

Liberals would call it social darwinism.

Conservatives would say it is smaller government.

Liberty is about freedom from economic, social, and foreign control.

In economic terms, it would be the reduction of government's true size today back to the level around 1930.  That would amount to 10% of Gross National Product.

It would include getting rid of the current tax code by going to a simple flat tax.

Social Liberty would mean an end to all of the legal intrusions into peoples lives and behaviors.  That means purging the religious right from the Republican Party, while not purging the more normal elements of religion itself.

Foreign Control would mean an end to trade agreements, while conductiong more business activities through transactional leadership.

Foreign Control would mean getting rid of the United Nations and not listening to the European Union.

It would mean listening to European Governments at their national levels.

It would mean getting rid of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade.

An end to regulation as much as possible in all of its forms, except in extreme cases.

Libertarian Republican #295

Revolution.

Revolutions take many forms.

Revolutions in most industrialized countries take place in a science and technology setting or at the ballot box.

Revolutions in 2nd World Nations have become more peaceful.

Revolutions in 3rd World Countries are still fought with weapons.

Their have been 3 economic revolutions.

First, the Agriculture Revolution 5000 years ago or so.

Second, the Industrial Revolution about 300 years ago.

Third, the Information Revolution that began 30 years ago.

Political Revolutions in the 1st World usually end with politicians being voted out of office.

In the past, there was the American Revolution that lead directly or indirectly to a whole host of other Revolutions.

It is legal to overthrow the United States Government by force of arms, but if you do not succeed expect the death penalty.

Secession is illegal because the Supreme Court said so in a Court Case in the late 1860s or 1870s.

Revolutions can take many forms and they are usually conducted to purge a massive imbalance in the nation's system.

As such, it can take a generation or two to work out all of the dislocations they produce.

History marches on and does not stop.  Where is the next revolution coming from?

Libertarian Republican #294

The State.

The State is necessary for law and order, economic development, and national security.

Social Issues are based on morals rather than ideology.

Social Issues are the province of philosophers.

The State must prevent riots, insurrections, and invasions.

The State must deal with economics in general terms or macroeconomic terms only.

The State should not conduct a war unless the national interest is threatened.

Iraq 1 was justified and Iraq 2 was unjustified.

The State get's more specific in its activities the closer it gets to the local population.

People know somethings about international issues, national issues, state issues, and local issues.

Education is a valuable tool in getting people to see the truth of what a state does and does not do.

In essence, the state's job is to provide for the national interest, but based on limits.

Power.

There are 3 types of people in the world: moral, immoral, and amoral.

Moral individuals know the difference between right and wrong and always chose to do what's right.

Immoral individuals know the difference between right and wrong and always chose to do what's wrong.

Amoral individuals do not the difference between right and wrong and always do the wrong thing.

Eisenhower was a moral individual and chose to do the right thing.

Nixon was an immoral individual and was forced from office as a result.

George W. Bush is an amoral individual as exemplified by his personal behavior and his activities in the Terror War.

Power corrupts and absolute Power corrupts absolutely.

Power with a purpose is used for noble ends.

Power used in terms of a necessary evil is sometimes necessary.

Power used in terms of blunt force without morality is evil.

In essence, power and morality go hand in hand along with understanding the nuances of other individuals.
