Marriage.

Marriage is one of the oldest institutions of civilization.

Its operative throughout all societies around the world.

It has connections through government, philosophy, religion, family, history, and a whole range of other subjects.

It has been noted since ancient times as a bond between one man and one woman.

It has been a source of enormous strength for nations throughout history.

Deviant Behavior has caused no end of consternation for nations.

Do you regulate behavior?

Do you open the pandora's box of other types of relationships being codified in law?

How do you approach the issue?

I have known relationships that were codified in law under the flag of a lie by the male.

Meaning, he married the female because he did not want to be alone in his new life.

What is compatibility?

Do you marry the most beautiful member of the opposite sex or do you go for someone who is best all around.

That means you go with someone who is your equal, but somewhat different.

Do you go for electricity or stability?

Do you want someone who is a rock or engaged in constant change?

Do you go for brains or beauty?

Do you go for money or a relationship?

Do you live in Los Angeles or Billings, Montana?

Do you pay an exorbiant money for a house or car or do you go with the practical?

Do you go for someone who thinks like you or who is totally opposite from you?

Do you go for colors or grey?

There's a whole range of issues to consider.

Do you discuss politics, religion, sex, and other issues?

Do you date in High School?

Do you take time to develop a relationship?

Do you go to the movies, the library, book store, cafes, or some other form of entertainment?

Do you get remarried a 3rd and 4th Time?

Do you like blondes, brunettes, redheads, or black hair members of the opposite gender?

Do you have a fixation on one type of female?

Do you have a fixation on the man's bank account?

Do you read mens magazines or look at the pictures?

Do you deny your husband the right to study these magazines even though your womens magazines are just as graphic?

What are the new relationships on the Horizon?

Contemporary Women want relationships and not party animals.

Men want more on the domestic side from what I can see and I want.

Why are men prone to obsess about women?  That includes me.

Why do women make us men jump through hoops over every last detail?

Is it better to have a long term relationship without being legalized through marriage.

Marriage has its own complexities.

Marriages are of one of 4 types:  50/50, husband dominate, wife dominate, and Interdependency.

50/50 marriages are highly unstable and usually end in divorce.

Husband dominate marriages are 1950s.

Wife dominate marriages are in vogue.

Interdependent means there defined roles, but its like more 60/40 depending on the issue.

Marriage has its benefits.  You have someone to share life with through all its trials and tribulations.

You have children.

You have the certainty that your partner might know how to do something that you do not how to do.

Its a bunch of things.

However, stability is no longer the condition of our marriages.

Everybody is pursuing their own self interest.

Liberal Families are aborting themselves out of existence.

Conservative families might have six kids.

The Great Depression caused economic hardship for people.

The Vietnam War caused Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

The Civil Rights Revolution empowered all minority groups with alcohol.

The Feminist Revolution caused massive identity confusion.

The Reagan Revolution restored some of the balance.

Clinton took all of these forces to their illogical conclusion in the impeachment over lying about an affair.

Bush II projected confidence that masked arrogance.

Dead Certain that appeals to some people, but angers twice as many people.

People have different ways of doing things and no one way fits all types of people.

In essence, marriage seems in most peoples minds to be a continuation of the date and maybe cohabitation, but instead we are not trained for the complexities or intimacies of marriage.
