Jimmy Carter never got over the 1980 election.
Jimmy Carter sees himself like some sort of one man diplomatic show.
He's typical of the people in hard sciences. They see things in terms of technology and diagrams.
He was a Nuclear Engineer or Physicist so he fit's the profile.
He was as Speaker Tip O'Neil the smartest public official he ever met.
He could tick off both sides of issue without fail.
He was willing to listen.
He was willing to learn about any issue, except the politics of Washington DC.
Jimmy Carter probably was born to be a diplomat, but he had a technician's bent.
From what I remember of him is the fact that he was not a very good communicator or decision maker.
He was a micromanager of all things all the way to who used the White House Tennis Courts.
He had a weak staff, weak cabinet, and in an ironic sense he had no sense of style.
When he deal's with foreigners in a lot of respects he has mixed success.
A man who cannot accept the fact that he is a relic of the 1970s and unwilling to retire.
One of our smartest leaders, but one who lacked any sense of political skills.
Parsimonious is the word applied to him from what I can remember.
