I do not like Bureaucrats as a rule, but they are the closest to the general public.
Their called Policemen and Firemen.
You see them every day in your local community.
I do not anyone outside a few people in my area who know state lawmakers, Mayor, or Local Judges.
There not that visible to the general public and hence the public is ignorant of who they are in terms of an ongoing basis.
Senators and Congressmen are higher up the chain, but people seem to have a bipolar opinion of these politicians.
Governors are widely known, but again people have extreme opinions of these people.
The President is the most visible symbol of our government. Yet, he cannot do anything for the individual person.
I have noticed when a new administration starts everybody thinks the new guy will get things done.
Yet, for the most part it is Congress that directs the affairs of the Federal Government.
The Press covers the President and it is Congress for the most part that has the power.
