Offering incentives for companies to locate to a particular state.
I assume the cost of such incentives far outweigh their benefits.
Businesses get a lot of financial incentives, but taxpayers get stuck with the bill.
Workers get good paying jobs, but taxpayers ante up to support the factory.
Economic Development should not be based on tax incentives, but they are used with regularity.
Basically, its a shell game by state governments and forces states to compete with each other for private businesses.
Never mind the point, that business and government on this point should operate independent of each other.
