Neocons crossed over to the Republican Party back during Vietnam.
Neocons believe in a strong national defense, robust welfare state, and are anti-social control.
Does that match anyone's understanding of conservatism?
They spend all day theorizing about war.
Bush/Cheney put them all in the Pentagon in 2001.
They have no connection to the real world of war.
Theorists who have no concept of the military's culture, traditions, or history.
The premiere example of a Neocon was Senator Henry Scoop Jackson of Washington State or Oregon.
A Democrat.
Usually, they have never served in the military.
People who love war for the sake of war.
Almost a primal urge with these people.
I have studied Military Affairs since 1975.
I think they did a lousy job in Vietnam and Iraq.
The two wars that have gone on the longest with no light at the end of the tunnel.
I served in the Air Force during Desert Storm.
It wasn't a pleasant experience wondering if you have to go or not to go.
Luckily, only 150 died in that war.
However, 100000 came down with Gulf War Syndrome.
George W. Bush through his amateurish Generalship has wrecked the Army and Marines.
George W. Bush think's he know's more about Military Affairs because he control's the flow of information.
A highly secretive man who never really understood what he was doing.
Yes, he served in the Air National Guard as a Pilot, but such individuals are the most warlike of anyone in the military because pilots do not see the cost of their actions.
McCain saw the brutality of war.
