George Washington was an isolationist

He did not use the military outside the confine's the United States.
 
He did use them in Pennsylvania to shut down the Whiskey Rebellion and that is it.
 
America had protectionist trade policies from Washington through Roosevelt II.
 
His foreign policy was to keep the United States out of foreign entanglements because he knew we did not have the power to fight.
